Repeatability and quality

CNC makes it possible to save a process as a program and reproduce it repeatedly with high accuracy. In traditional machining, quality depends much more on the operator’s experience with each individual part.

Setup time

Preparing a CNC program takes time, but it shortens subsequent cycles and simplifies serial production. Traditional machining may be faster for a single, simple operation, but it is more difficult to scale.

When to choose CNC

CNC is particularly beneficial for repeatable parts, complex geometries, demanding tolerances, and processes that need automation. The decision should take into account the planned production volume, material, and total process cost.
